About the EBA

Volunteers Needed

Join our team to continue Ephrata's youth baseball tradition! Many hands make light work so the more we have the lighter the load on any one individual. You can volunteer for a one-time activity/event or a seasonal position. Not all positions require meeting attendance and we are better with more people involved. If you are willing to help, we will help you find a spot that fits you.

Current Open Positions:

  • Variety of Special Event "Helpers" - once per year events like Picture Day, Fundraisers, etc. Are you willing to help the coordinators? Not lead but help with a task or 2? This is very much appreciated. Let us know what you'd like to help with.
Please contact Andy Gockley for more information or to volunteer.

Our Vision

To provide fun, safe, consistent, age appropriate development of players, which progressively prepares them to advance to the next level of competition.

History

We began as the Ephrata Area Little League® in 2002.  In  2007 our organization  incorporated  to become the Ephrata Baseball Association, a nonprofit organization.

Organizational Structure

The Ephrata Baseball Association (EBA) is a comprehensive K-12 grade consolidated youth sports organization serving the youth of Ephrata and surrounding areas. Over 100 volunteers provide approximately 400 youth ages 5 to 19 every year the opportunity to enhance their baseball skills and play a more competitive level of baseball, while also learning management skills and life lessons. We work closely with the Ephrata Mounts HS staff to prepare our younger players for participation in the high school baseball program, as well as offering opportunities for continued development throughout each player's high school career.  We have teams in 2 programs, EBA Youth Baseball and Ephrata Premier Baseball Assocation (EPBA).

EBA Youth Baseball (Ages 5-12)

Our 5-12 years olds have several levels of play to learn and have in baseball for the spring season. Our Rookies level or t-ball is for 5–6-year-olds; The Minors level or coach pitch is for 6-8-year-olds, and the 8–10-year-olds are typically in Majors or kid pitch.

Ephrata Premier Baseball Association (EPBA) (Ages 8-17)

The EPBA equips EBA travel teams from the 10U Selects level through the 17U LCYBL program for on-field competition. We have teams in 2 different leagues, LCYBL for 10U,12U, and 14U, and Lancaster Country Midget Baseball for 17U.

Fields & Facilities

The EBA plays on public and school fields in the surrounding community. We thank the following boroughs, townships, and organizations that have developed relationships with us which enable us to share in the use and maintenance of these fields.

  • Akron Borough
  • Clay Township
  • Ephrata Township
  • Ephrata Borough
  • Ephrata Area School District

For the past several years we have been enjoying the indoor facility called "EBA Academy" at 300 W. Chestnut Street in Ephrata.  This facility is provided by a single donor with the primary objective of enabling high school players to improve their skills year-round.  When its available and there are qualified volunteers, the EBA is allowed to use it for 8–14-year-olds. As long as the facility remains available and we have the volunteers, the EBA will continue to look for opportunities to improve the baseball skills of all players and equip parents with the knowledge to reinforce at home.

EBA Board of Directors and Management Team

The EBA Board of Directors are responsible for the day-to-day operations of this fully consolidated and comprehensive youth baseball organization. Their main duty is to ensure that the participants of this K-12 program are learning the game of baseball in a fun and safe environment. Each member is a volunteer and is carefully appointed to their position by a selection committee that reviews level of availability, interest, and commitment to the objectives of the organization.

The EBA Board meets monthly, from August to March, at the EBA Academy which is located at 300 W. Chestnut St., Ephrata. The entrance is located via the tractor trailer port on the Park Ave. side of the building (look for the EBA sign).
